Step-up SIP Backtest Simulator

Test historical step-up SIP investments with annual increases using actual NAV data

What is Step-up SIP Backtesting?

The Step-up SIP Backtest Simulator combines the power of historical NAV data with the step-up SIP strategy, where your monthly investment increases annually by a fixed percentage. This helps you see how this popular investment strategy would have performed in the past.

Why Use Step-up SIP?

  • Inflation Adjustment: Your investment grows in line with income increases and inflation
  • Higher Wealth Creation: Regular increases can significantly boost final corpus over time
  • Disciplined Growth: Automates the process of increasing your investment commitment

Key Metrics Explained

  • XIRR (Extended Internal Rate of Return): The annualized return rate considering the timing and varying amounts of each SIP installment
  • CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate): The smoothed annual growth rate of your investment over the period
  • Absolute Returns: The total profit or loss as a percentage of your total investment

How to Use

  1. Search and select a mutual fund
  2. Choose your investment start and end dates
  3. Enter your initial monthly SIP amount
  4. Set the annual step-up percentage (e.g., 10% means your SIP increases by 10% each year)
  5. Click "Run Backtest" to see the results

Example: If you start with ₹10,000/month and a 10% annual step-up:
Year 1: ₹10,000/month | Year 2: ₹11,000/month | Year 3: ₹12,100/month, and so on.
